Me and Dori looking at frogs
This is me and Dori looking at frogs. It is kind of science for me. I caught them, but I set them down on that rock. Why it was science for me is because we were looking at the patterns. This was really fun for me to catch a frog.
History and geography: Sonlight Core 2, “Introduction to World History, Part 2” literature-rich study of fall of Roman Empire to present day with timeline and map/globe work Reading: Sonlight Grade 2 Intermediate Readers book list and guide plus lots of self-selected books Phonics: Explode the Code Grammar: First Language Lessons for the Well-Trained Mind, second half Math: Singapore Primary Mathematics 2A, then move on to 2B Science: NOEO Science "Chemistry I: Bubbly, Sticky, Bouncy and Icky!" with Young Scientist Club experiment kits Handwriting: Handwriting witout Tears manuscript using own copywork generated with StartWrite 5.0 software Plenty of learning through real life
2009–10 Extracurricular activities
4-H Club, monthly meetings
AYSO soccer, spring
Homeschool gym days, twice a month
Cross Kids, monthly: group for 1st–6th graders at church
Vacation Bible School, Summer Reading Program, Nature Center programs, field trips and other things that come up
